About Me

Sharing a story at the library.
Hello there! My name is Kendra.  A name that means wisdom or knowledge.  It is a name worthy of striving
toward.  It is a name that can haunt me when I make foolish decisions or behave in a conceited way.  I love my name, but, even more than that, I love the One who gives true wisdom and knowledge to all who thirst for it.  For in Him is all true wisdom found.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."
Proverbs 9:10 NKJV

I was raised in a family where both my parents are Christians.  From birth they took me to church and taught me about God at home.  At a young age I learned that I needed Jesus to save me from my sin. And at age four I made the choice to trust Him as my Saviour. (Click HERE to learn more about the need for and the gift of salvation)  I am still learning more about who God is.  I hope you will enjoy joining me in that journey.  It is an ongoing process full of bumps, but with the Holy Spirit dwelling inside, I see the work of God transforming my attitudes and actions and conforming me to be more like Christ through each day and season of life (Rom 12:1-2, 2 Cor 4:16-18).

I currently work as a Child & Youth Services Librarian at a public library in Southern Ontario, but am soon making a career change as God is leading me on a journey to the continent of Africa for a year.  I will be posting updates on this adventure HERE.

This blog was started as a part of a Library 2.0 course I took, but now is a place for updates, fun things I have tried, lessons I am learning and more.  I appreciate your input.  If you have any additions or corrections to my posts, please comment and I will evaluate and make changes as necessary.

Here are some random ramblings about myself and this blog…
  • I am the oldest in my family (of six siblings) and I like spending time with them ... so you will see them featured in the blog regularly.
  • I generally do not use people's names in my blog to protect privacy (unless they already have a blog or other online presence).
  • I enjoy crafty things (like card making, quilting, scrapbooking, and photography).
  • Music is important to me.  It brings me to a worshipful state ... not in any weird way, but in how it makes my spirit soar as I reflect on the notes and the words (whether playing or listening to old fashioned hymns, beautiful instrumental music, or modern songs) .
  • If I go too long without a good read, it seems as if there is something missing in my life.  I cherish a day wiled away on my couch with a good book (if I am really industrious, I'll spend some of it on my stationary bike so I can work out physically and mentally at the same time).
  • Someday, I would like to be a published author but I do not have any idea what my book will be about.
  • To find out more randomness, check out this POST (where my friend, Stephanie, nominated me for the Liebster Award)
